Sonya Grattan was recommended to me earlier this year as I started the somewhat daunting task of writing my first ever business plan.

Sonya’s knowledge and experience in this area was immediately evident. She patiently listened to my ideas and, after our initial meeting, set me very clear focus points which would ultimately enable me to turn what was little more than my jumbled notes into a structured and professional business plan.

Since that initial meeting, Sonya has provided additional support by reading through further drafts and using her vast experience to help me craft the plan into a professional document which I can now confidently put before any lender.

Without Sonya’s knowledge and understanding of business and project planning, coupled with her patience and encouragement, my business plan would not currently exist.

I had the absolute pleasure of working alongside Sonya on one of our programmes. We had a large programme to define the benefits within and to do this required managing large groups of stakeholders across different levels within the organisation. Sonya managed this really well and took the pressure off the team as she facilitated the sessions to allow them to integrate into the workshop. The results as you can imagine came out brilliantly and we had a really detailed and accurate benefits map that spanned each area of our large enterprise organisation. Thank you Sonya for the support and continued support over the years. I look forward to working with you again

“I first worked with Sonya in 2007, supporting her on a project she was leading to improve workspace utilisation in our large company. During this work, it became apparent to me that Sonya was very methodical, meticulous and had high intellect. These attributes continued to be displayed when we subsequently worked together to investigate a transport event and, as a result of the learning, build a modern transport system to redress the identified inadequacies. More recently, Sonya has provided me with coaching and mentoring in respect of programme build and delivery. Throughout my 13 years of interaction with Sonya, she has consistently shown a systematic approach to delivery and an appetite to learn and adapt. Overall, I would have no hesitation in recommending Sonya to coach and mentor in programme improvements.”

I’m delighted to have worked with Sonya over the last several years at Sellafield, especially more recently when Sonya was in the Portfolio, Programme and Business Management Capability (Centre of Excellence) as an Internal Coach. Sonya is an effective coach, very committed and passionate for what she does and experienced and knowledgeable in Portfolio and Programme Management. A very well liked, respected individual with the ability to bring out the best of an individual as well as a wider team. Sonya certainly helped me understand the complexity of the programme I was going to manage and offered some advice in getting started and the most appropriate tools relevant to the programme lifecycle. It was pleasure working with Sonya and I would recommend her to anyone, without hesitation

Sonya and I have worked together on the following initiatives:

1. Whilst Sonya was the Business Manager for a large reprocessing programme at Sellafield Ltd and I reported into Sonya from a Risk Management perspective.
2. In a newly mobilised team set up to deliver the people change element of a SAP HCM project, whereby Sonya was a BCM and I was a Change Practitioner.

Sonya is highly seasoned and effective in the business, change and programme management arenas. She is able to ‘command the room’, facilitate discussions and enable understanding of issues and respective solutions in order to drive resolution(s).

Sonya’s business background ensures problems are distilled with quantitative underpinning and met with qualitative reasoning, ensuring the correct issues are identified whilst catering for multiple reporting needs/styles, enabling maximum stakeholder buy-in.

Sonya’s in depth knowledge of programme and change management should give prospective clients the confidence that such a seasoned operator can advise re prioritisation of initiatives, thus apportioning of resources accordingly, ensuring required change is timely and efficient.

Highly recommended.

I have worked alongside Sonya on a number of new initiatives which have been transformational changes in Sellafield. Sonya instinctively understands how to support the team she is working with and willingly shares her knowledge of change and programme management. Sonya is able to do this and impart knowledge effortlessly which demonstrates true mentorship and leadership. I have been very lucky to have had the opportunity to learn from Sonya’s expertise in the Programme profession and will continue to reflect on what she shared throughout our time working as colleagues.
